I found a graph inside YouTube analytics that shows you exactly what to do and what to look for in order to get more views on your YouTube videos.

The best way to get more views on YouTube is by getting YouTube to recommend your videos.  Even though I love search-based videos, YouTube recommendations can really take your channel to the next level.  

You can get YouTube to recommend or suggest your video by making sure people watch the videos for as long as possible without clicking away.

This is called retention time.  

In order to improve your retention time on YouTube, you need to make your intro and the first 30 seconds of the video as engaging as possible.

I’ve spent the last few months testing this out across 6 channels and I think I found a formula that works there is a YouTube chart you can use to test this for your channel.

When you go to the analytics of a video, you can see the average retention time.  This graph will show you if people are leaving right away or if they are sticking around.

If this has a big drop-off of over 50%, you need to change how you start your video and redo your intro for upcoming videos.
There is another useful graph called relative audience retention.  This will compare your video with videos across YouTube and tell you how well you are doing.

But I found a technique that helps you get over 50% retention by the 30-second mark.  Let me show you exactly how I do this.

I open the video using stock footage that is revenant to what I’m talking about.  I use Envato Elements to find these stock video files and add them as much as I can in the first 30 seconds of my video.  I also make sure to add music in the beginning from Envato Elements as well.
I’ve used them for years and they’ve sponsored some of the videos including this one since last year.

I tested a ton of different options for the first 30 seconds across six channels and revenant stock footage with music performed the best.

Creating a stunning YouTube video intro is simple and free with Canva. This tutorial walks you through the process in under 10 minutes.

Getting Started:
Visit canva.com and select the "Video" option to create a blank canvas.
Navigate to the "Design" tab and search for "YouTube intro" under templates. Canva offers both free and paid templates, with the paid ones marked by a crown.
Hover over each template to preview it before making a selection. Use the filter option to refine your search by color or theme, ensuring the intro matches your channel's aesthetics.

Once you find a suitable template, click to apply it to your canvas.

Editing Your Intro:
It's recommended to keep your intros between 3 to 5 seconds to maintain viewer attention.
Begin by editing the text to include your channel name and tagline.
Customize further by adding or removing elements. Utilize the "Elements" tab to search for graphics related to your theme, then resize and reposition these elements.

Make sure they are layered correctly by using the right-click options to bring them forward or backward.

Add animations to elements through the "Animate" option to give them motion and make your intro more engaging.

Background and Music:
Change the background color or add gradient options for a more personalized touch.
To add background music, go to the "Audio" tab and search for intro music. You can filter your options to find the perfect track. Drop the selected audio into the music track and adjust as needed.

Finalizing and Exporting:
Preview your intro to ensure everything looks good.
When ready, download the video in MP4 format at 1080p resolution. Higher resolutions are available with a paid upgrade.
Canva also offers a "Magic Resize" tool for adapting the intro to different platforms, although this is a paid feature.

Step 4 is channel customization.  You can change the channel layout here.

Want to learn how to create a YouTube channel? There are some important steps and settings you need to know before creating a YouTube channel. 

In this video, I’ll show you a 7 step process for creating a successful YouTube channel the right way.

In order to create a YouTube channel, you first need a Google account.  Google owns YouTube and everything will be under one account.  

If you use other services like Gmail, or Google docs, you already have a Google account and YouTube account.  

But if you don’t, you’ll need to create a Google account first before setting up a YouTube channel.

For step 2, set up a channel name.  This can be changed later.

Step 3 is verifying your YouTube channel.  This will unlock a lot of useful options.

Step 4 is channel customization.  You can change the basic info of your channel here, add a description and add links to other websites and platforms.
You can also set a unique channel handle.
Make sure to press publish to save your changes.

Step 5 is branding.  Branding has three parts.  You can add add a profile picture, a channel banner and a video watermark.

Step 6 is channel layout.  You can decide what people see if they go to the home page of your channel.  
You can show popular videos, playlists, YouTube shorts and you can choose the order of things.

Step 7 is uploading your first video.  In YouTube studio, you can press upload on the dashboard page to upload your very first YouTube video.

How to Create a YouTube Channel - Complete Beginner Tutorial

Want to get your first 100 subscribers on YouTube? I'm going to share with you a five-step process that I've used to get over 100 subscribers on my YouTube channel. 

I've used this system across six different channels and it's been proven to work. So, whether you're just starting out on YouTube or you're struggling to get subscribers, this video is for you.

Step 1: Have a Clear Audience in Mind

Before you start creating videos, it's important to have a clear idea of who you want to watch your videos. If you don't know who your target audience is, you'll always struggle in your YouTube journey. Even if your channel does take off, it'll be difficult to monetize it if you don't have a target audience in mind. 

For example, I have a channel that's just for filmmaking, another one for creative people using apps like Photoshop, and another one for people who have an iPhone and want to get the most out of it. I thought about who I wanted watching my videos first before making videos.

Step 2: Increase retention and watch time 

One of the best ways to get YouTube to recommend your videos is by increasing watch time and audience retention.  An easy way to do this is by adding additional graphics, images and videos to your YouTube videos during the editing process.  

Step 3: Make Search-Based Content

A really easy way to get discovered on YouTube is by creating search-based content. YouTube is a search engine and people use it to find answers. You can use tools like Tubebuddy to see what people are searching for and come up with video ideas. As long as they serve your target audience and fit your interest, you can use this method for years to come.

Step 4: Make Better Thumbnails

One of the best ways to get people to click on your video is by having the best possible thumbnail you can make. You can always improve your thumbnail. Right now, compare your thumbnail against channels that make similar content. Is it similar in quality? If not, you should really focus on making better thumbnails.

Step 5: Ask Your Viewers to Subscribe

As you get clicks and views, it's important to give a clear call to action to someone watching. One of the best ways to do this is to ask someone to subscribe by giving them a clear reason at the beginning of the video. You can also create a really easy subscribe link.

And there are plenty of tools out there to help you make a video intro for YouTube.  In this video, I want to show you a really easy-to-use editing app and a website that gives you professional templates.

One thing to note before creating a video intro.  Try to keep it under 5 seconds if you are using it at the beginning of your video.  You don’t want to lose your viewers with a long graphic intro.

We are going to use an editing app called Adobe Premiere, which you can get for free for 7 days if you don’t have it.  It’s the top video editing app out there.  I’ll share a resource at the end of the video if you want to learn more about how to use it for video editing.  For this video, we will use a template, so anyone can create a video intro for YouTube.

And we will use a template from Envato Elements.

Finding high-quality music for your YouTube videos can be challenging and sometimes confusing.  

There are also copyright issues that you have to be careful of.

In this video, I wanted to just highlight one platform that makes it really easy to find, download and use copyright-free music for YouTube videos.  

I’ve used this platform across all our YouTube channels for years and partnered with them for today’s video.

This platform is called Envato Elements.  If you’ve never heard of it before, it’s basically an all-in-one creative library.  You can get royalty-free music, sound effects video clips, video templates, photos, and pretty much anything you may need to create a quality video.

Here is how I find the perfect music for my videos.
Under the music tab, you’ll see over 100000 songs to choose from.  These are all royalty-free, meaning you can use them without copyright issues on YouTube.

Next, I use the side filter options to narrow my search.
I then narrow it down using tempo and length.
I like to sort by popularity to find the most ideal songs.

Once you take a listen and like a song, you can simply click download.  You can also download a preview and test it in your edited video if you prefer that option.

Another really useful tool Envato has is a tutorial-based YouTube channel.
They have tons of videos on design and video creation.  They even put up entire free courses that you’ll find super helpful.

Best Copyright Free Music for YouTube Videos

You can make money on YouTube using several different monetization options.

In this video, I want to break down the top 5 ways for making money on YouTube.  Some require you to get to a certain amount of subscribers before making money and some you can use on day one of starting a YouTube channel.

1 - YouTube Partner Program
This is a traditional monetization option for YouTube channels.  
You will first need to reach 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time on a YouTube channel before you can apply.
Once you get excepted, YouTube will run ads on your videos and give you 55% of the revenue they receive from those ads.

2 - Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is when you promote someone else’s product or service.
The very first affiliate marketing program I joined is called Amazon associate program.  You can put a link to any Amazon product and earn a small commission when someone buys that item.

3 - Sponsorships
Sponsorships usually come a bit later but can be very lucrative on YouTube.  This is simply when you mention a product or service in exchange for a fee in your videos.  You can create dedicated videos promoting the sponsor or simply a short mention, depending on your agreement.

4 - Selling your own product or service
The best way to monetize a YouTube channel is by promoting and setting up your own product and service.
You can create digital products for example sharing your knowledge with your audience.
You can also make yourself or your company available for hire and have a clear call to action on how to reach out to you in your videos.

5 - Thank you stickers
YouTube thank you stickers are not widely used yet, but they can be a really interesting way to make money on YouTube if used correctly.

You can activate this inside YouTube studio and people can basically give you a tip if they find your video valuable.

How to Make a YouTube Video Without a Camera

You can change your YouTube channel name at any time.  
You want to find a name that represents you and the content that you make.

Before you change your channel name, keep two things in mind. 

You can change your channel name, 3 times every 90 days.

If you have a verified channel, you will lose that verification.

You can change your YouTube channel name inside the YouTube Studio dashboard.

Click on customization, go to basic info and press the edit icon next to your existing YouTube channel name.

You can also change your channel URL.  This is a link you can send to people to find your channel.  You need 100 subscribers before you can get a custom URL link for a YouTube channel.

How to Change YouTube Channel Names - Step by Step!

Finding video ideas for YouTube can be challenging.  But there are a couple of tools that can help in your search.  

One is a tool I’ve used for five years now to find thousands of video ideas across several channels and the other one is a brand-new tool directly from YouTube.

There are videos labeled with content gaps.  Those are great places to start.  YouTube is telling you the people searching for those who are not getting what they are looking for.  So you can make that video using the title and have a great chance to get more views.

How to Find Video Ideas for YouTube - Amazing NEW YouTube Tool

You can finally change your YouTube profile picture on the iPhone right inside of the YouTube mobile app for iOS.

The process is pretty simple.  Launch the YouTube mobile app. 

You to my channel page.  Click the pencil icon to enter editing mode.  Click your profile picture.  You can also change your YouTube channel banner from here.

For your YouTube profile picture, you can take a photo or choose from your photos on your phone.

You will be able to crop the photo in squares to make sure it fits correctly.  And then press save.  

And that’s how to change your YouTube profile picture on your iPhone.

How to Make Logo Intros

Today marks exactly 5 years since I uploaded my first video to this YouTube channel and I’ve uploaded over 1200 videos ever since, just on this channel.

Those videos went on to get 120 million views so far and helped me create a successful business.

For anyone considering creating a YouTube channel and turning it into a business or using YouTube to grow their existing business, I wanted to share five of the biggest lessons I learned along the way to hopefully help you along your journey.


1 - Create evergreen content for YouTube search
One of the best things I ever did with this YouTube channel and my other YouTube channel is creating search-based content that people will search for in the years to come.  This helps me not rely on my latest video, every time I upload.  I have a library of content that can get millions of views a month, even if I didn’t make new videos.


2 - Pick a niche
One thing I wish I did when starting out is think of a target audience that I want to serve.  I’ve done that with other channels I created since my first channel.
If you don’t do this, you will only build a business around YouTube views, which is really hard to do.  But with a niche, you can monetize your videos in so many ways and build a real business on the back of your channel.


3- Stay consistent
Staying consistent is probably the best advice anyone can give a new YouTuber.
I hardly saw results for the first year.  In fact, it took me about a year to even get to 1000 subscribers.  But I uploaded almost every day and kept getting better with each upload.  Now, I have days where I get 1000 subscribers. 


4- Improve your thumbnails
I wish I knew how much thumbnails can help your channel.  You can have the best video, but if no one clicks on it, it won’t matter.  Make sure to keep your thumbnail easy to understand, clean, and professional.
You can use platforms like Canva to help.


5 - Increase retention time 
Once you get people to click on your video because of an engaging title and thumbnail, you gotta get them to keep watching.  I recently posted a video going deep into this topic, but the idea is to have visual elements, and number lists and give the audience a reason to keep watching.
Once you get a high retention time on a video, YouTube will suggest that video to more and more people and it can have exponential growth for your channel.

5 Years of Almost Daily Uploads on YouTube - 5 Biggest Lessons I Learned

One of the best ways to grow a YouTube channel is by increasing retention time.  That means simply getting people to watch more of your video without clicking away.  

So how do we get people to stay on our video for longer? It comes down to the content of the video and if the video is visually interesting.

Most YouTubers and YouTube channels use a talking head.  That’s when you sit here like this and talk directly to the camera.  But that can get boring.  Even if the information is really good, it needs something visually interesting to keep people watching.

The Best Way To Grow Your Youtube Channel

You can turn on dark mode on YouTube, both on the desktop website and the mobile app version of YouTube for Android and iPhone.

To turn on dark mode on the YouTube website, simply click settings on the top right and choose a dark theme that will turn on dark mode.  You can also use your device theme and set this at the device level.

On the YouTube mobile app, click your profile icon and choose Settings.  Select general and you will see a dark theme on this page.  Simply toggle on the slider to turn on dark mode on YouTube.

How To Enable Dark Mode on YouTube - New Update

You can finally change the YouTube banner on your phone directly inside of the YouTube app.  Last year, you can open up the desktop version of YouTube and it was a lot of work to change your channel banner on YouTube on your phone.

I wanted to update this video to show you a simple way to change the YouTube channel banner on iPhone or Android.

Open the YouTube mobile app.  Click your profile picture and choose a channel.  Make sure you are logged in to the right channel.  Then, click the pencil icon to edit.  You will see a small camera icon for your profile pic and another icon for your channel banner.  Select the channel banner icon and either take a picture or choose a photo from your phone.

How to Change YouTube Banner on Phone Android & iPhone

Did you know you can set keywords for a YouTube channel, not just individual YouTube videos?

The best way to find keywords for your channel is by searching for similar channels and seeing what keywords they are using.

You can copy other channels’ keywords directly from their channel page.  

To add keywords to your channel, go to YouTube Studio and click on settings.

How To Add YouTube Channel Keywords

A lower third is a graphic that you can add to any video, usually showing someone’s name and title.

This is a video overlay that stays on top of a talking head video.  Lower-third graphics can be simple, like plain text, or fully animated.

I want to show you a resource that gives your thousands of options for any type of lower third you want.  And they will work with just about any editing program that you are using.

Envato Elements is a platform where you can download any type of lower third you can think of.  In addition to lower third graphics, you can also download stock footage, royalty-free music, and pretty much anything you need to create a video.

You can simply search for the lower third and you’ll see a lot of options to choose from.  Depending on what editing software you are using, you can narrow down your selection.

Once you download the lower third template, you can open it up in the editing software you chose and edit the text.  You can overlay this on top of any video and trim the length.

And it’s that simple to add lower third graphics to videos.

YouTube may be the most powerful platform for business owners and entrepreneurs.  And I want to give you the framework, so you can get the most out of YouTube for your business.

Here is the step-by-step process.

Create a YouTube channel with a very specific target audience.  If you have a business, you should already know your target audience.  The most focused you are with this, the easier the rest gets.

Then, create content answering specific questions for exactly that group of people.  This can be a combination of search-based topics and topics that your audience is curious about.

You can use a tool like Tubebuddy to figure out what is searching around that topic and create a list of video ideas.

With each video on YouTube, give away as much free value and free information as you can without asking for anything in return.

After you start to find traction and nurture your subscribers by answering their questions and consistently making a video, you are ready to monetize.
With newer videos, mentioned an offer to your audience.  For example, you can say, if you want to learn more, I have a course on this topic or if you want my team to do this for you, reach out by clicking the link in the description.

Next, create a landing page on your website.  This single web page should have a call to action for your audience.  This is your lead generator.  This page should have a paid offer or paid service attached to it.  If your free content is good, and you incorporate a call to action in your videos, people will click the link and will fill out the form, and will buy your product or service.

How to Use YouTube for Business

You can add tags to any YouTube video.  Tags can be added while uploading the video and tags can be added after uploading a video.  Any existing video can have tags added or tags removed or changed at any time.

I’m going to also show you how to find tags automatically, without doing any manual research.

To add tags to YouTube videos during upload, you have to click more options after selecting the video you want to upload.  You can add tags to this box.  To find relevant tags, you can use a tool called Tubebuddy that will show you recommended tags.  You can use keyword explorer to find more tags as well.

How to Add Tags to YouTube Videos

You can add hashtags on YouTube above your own video titles.  You can do this for existing YouTube videos as well as YouTube videos as you upload them. 

Using a hashtag in a video is another way to show up in a search.  When someone clicks the hashtag, it will search other videos with that hashtag.  

You can add up to 15 hashtags, but I usually only add two or three.

To add hashtags, you can simply add them after your video title or in the description box of your video.

How to Add Hashtags on YouTube

You can create a YouTube channel on your phone without the need of a computer.
All you need is an iPhone or Android phone that can access the internet.

The process on iPhone or Android phones for creating a new YouTube channel is exactly the same.

On the YouTube website, you’ll first have to log in to your YouTube account.  If you don’t have one, you can create one.

Once you have a Google account, you can create a YouTube channel.  Make sure to name your YouTube channel based on the type of content you make or use your personal name.

Once the YouTube channel is set up, you want to customize it.
You want to add a profile picture and channel art.

Once everything is set up, you want to download the YouTube Studio app, which will give you better control over your YouTube channel.

When it comes to growing a Youtube channel, thumbnails are one of the top 3 things that can make a huge difference.

How to Find and Add Motion Graphics to YouTube Videos

Want to create a YouTube channel? There are some important steps and settings you need to know before creating a YouTube channel. 

It is a lot more difficult to change some of these settings on your YouTube channel if you don’t set them up correctly in the beginning.
In this video, I’ll show you a 7 step process for creating a successful YouTube channel the right way.

In order to create a YouTube channel, you first need a Google account.  Google owns YouTube and everything will be under one account.  

If you use other services like Gmail or Google docs, you already have a Google account and YouTube account.  

But if you don’t, you’ll need to create a Google account first before setting up a YouTube channel.

For step 2, set up a channel name.  This can be changed later.

Step 3 is verifying your YouTube channel.  This will unlock a lot of useful options.

Step 4 is channel customization.  You can change the channel layout here.

Step 5 is branding.  You can add a YouTube channel profile picture, and channel banners.

How To Create A YouTube Channel - 2023 Beginner’s Guide

An animated YouTube subscribe button could really level up your YouTube videos and increase how many viewers turn to subscribers.

Typically, without a nice call to action for people to subscribe, most viewers don’t actually click subscribe.

So it’s far better to use a subscribe animation during the intro and outro of all YouTube videos.  If you use a YouTube subscribe animation along with a verbal call to action to subscribe, you’ll have great results.

One of the easiest ways to get an animated subscribe button is by using Envato Elements.  Simply search for YouTube subscribe button and you’ll find plenty of options.  You can use a simple stock video with an alpha channel or use an Adobe Premiere or Adobe After Effects file.  

Once you download the YouTube subscribe animation, you can use it on any editing platform.  Simply add it to a video layer 2 and it will appear on top of your video.

How to Create YouTube Thumbnails for Beginners

Using stock photos and videos in your YouTube videos is a great way to keep the viewers engaged.  This will increase the retention time for your video. But you have to make sure you have the correct permission to use the photos and videos in your video.

Some photos and videos are copyright protected and can’t just be used in any video.

You need to use royalty-free images and videos in your videos.
You can use free websites as well as paid services.  

I’ll show you a free and a paid option and compare the two options and why you may want to pay.

A free option that is used by a lot of YouTubers is Pexels.com
A lot of these images and videos can be used on any video without copyright issues.

You can also use a paid service called Envato Elements.
This is a subscription service for photos, videos, music, and pretty much everything else you need for YouTube videos.

How to Change YouTube Profile Picture oh iPhone or Android

Is YouTube not showing comments? Here is a quick fix.
First, make sure to update the YouTube app if this is happening on your app.

It could be that restricted mode is turned on which limits what comments you can see.

If you are using an iPhone, you can delete or offload the app and reinstall it.

Your channel setting or video may be set for kids.  This will disable comments on the video.

You can also delete chrome cookies and that may solve your issue too.

How to fix YouTube Not Showing Comments

You can finally change YouTube Banner on your Phone right inside the YouTube mobile app for Android and iOS.
Previous to this update, you had to view the mobile version of the website using a browser, but now, the YouTube mobile app can change the YouTube banner.

All you have to do is open the YouTube app and click on the profile icon.
Go to your channel page. Click on the edit channel.  Here, you'll see a little camera icon for changing your profile banner or channel art as well as your profile picture.
You can take a photo or choose from your library on your phone.  You can resize it to fit all devices and click save.

And it's that simple to change YouTube Banner on iOS or Android.

To create a clip, simply find a channel that has the clip option available to them.  It will show under the video.

You’ll get a new URL for that clip that you can share anywhere you like.  You can share it on YouTube as a comment, community post, or post it to other social media platforms like Reddit and Facebook.

YouTube Studio has an editor that allows you to edit videos after upload and after publishing.
You can trim any part of the video.  You can start the video later, end it earlier, split the video at any point and trim out any section.
You can do this if you have any copyright-related issue, music copyright or if you simply decide to take a section of the video out.

The great thing about this option is you can edit videos after upload without having to remove them from YouTube.

You can also revert back to the original version.  It will take some time for the edited version to be served on YouTube.

You can add YouTube tags to all your videos using your Phone.

You simply need to download the free YouTube studio app.

How to Make a YouTube Channel Banner with Photoshop

This is part 1 of building the ultimate YouTube studio completely from scratch.  And I mean completely.  From building walls, insulation, electricity, soundproofing, paint, design, equipment, lighting and everything you need to know about creating a studio for recording video will be covered.

I began framing walls in the second studio.  I'll post a complete framing walls video if you are curious soon, but the whole idea is to measure, mark your studs every 16 inches, and then build the wall on the floor and stand it up.  I'm building 8-foot walls here, but a lot of experts recommended 10 or 12-foot walls to make this go faster.

I measured for each stud and cut it to size and then nailed everything together with the nailgun.

Then you just have to secure the wall to the joist on top and ramset it into the concrete.

The biggest challenge was using a level to make sure everything is leveled and straight.  
After that, the second wall and every wall took less time, but the first one was a pain.

Once we finished the second studio, I moved over to the first one.  The pink insulation got glued to the wall and I started building more walls.

Working by myself in this room took much longer.  But I managed to finish the exterior walls of the main studio in 3 days.

The whole framing process took about 4 weeks, but I got much faster in the end.

The next video will focus on insulation, soundproofing, and walls.

You can easily add subtitles or captions to YouTube videos before or after publishing the video.  Even though YouTube automatically captions videos, it's far from perfect and you should still add subtitles to YouTube videos.

YouTube gives you several options for creating subtitles.  You can upload subtitle files such as SRT files, you can use the subtitle editor to type your own and time them automatically to the video or you can do the entire process manually.

There are programs that automatically subtitle your videos as well.  Descript is a program you can use to upload your video and automatically create an SRT file to send to YouTube.

Once you create one subtitle file, you can automatically translate it as well to different languages.

Youtube secrets I learned after 1000 videos 

Today marks exactly 4 years from uploading my first video on this YouTube channel.
And in the last 4 years, I made over 1000 videos on this channel and another 500 across a few other channels.
In that process, I learned 5 things that took a lot of trial and error.
So hopefully sharing them with you will save you some time and headache.

1. Show your face on YouTube.
When I first started, I found so many videos that were faceless. And I thought that I should be faceless. No personality. No identity. Turns out, people relate much better and learn better when they see the teacher.

2. Quantity vs. quality
Another piece of advice I wish I didn’t follow was to focus on quantity over quality on youtube.

3. Focus on one topic per channel
The lack of focus and not knowing who my audience should be was the biggest mistake I made on YouTube that I still haven’t been able to correct.
As we start working on the algorithm for Howfinity.com, I started thinking more about how the youtube algorithm might operate.

4. Don’t burn yourself out
Youtube is a marathon. In 4 years of daily deep dive on channels, deep analysis, studying social blade, I almost never saw a channel take off in year 1. 
But most people that started a channel, quit far before they give success a real chance.

5. Focus on content vs subscribers 
I really think youtube will show the best videos on a certain topic eventually. So trying to figure out hacks to get more subscribers is a waste of time. Just focus on providing the best possible value on youtube for the video you are creating, stay with it, and eventually, the video will be pushed by the algorithm.

Technically, the camera and the software in most smartphones are very advance if you use them correctly.

In this video, I’ll share 5 tips for getting the most high-end video with your iPhone or Android.

1 - Composition: Frame your shot with basic rules of cinema. (Rule of thirds) note: headroom and shot size is very important

2 - Lens selection: Choose the right lens. Don’t use the front-facing camera.

3 - Lighting: You have to light your shot to get good video quality with any camera.

4 - Tripod: Use a tripod or phone grip to stabilize the shot.

5 - Sound: Use a microphone if your phone is more than a couple of feet away from you.

There are a ton of video creation tools you can use to record, edit and post your YouTube short.

YouTube shorts option is available on iOS and Android YouTube apps.

You can use existing video clips on your phone or record new clips.  You can add music from the YouTube shorts music library, change the clip speed, add filters and add text to any YouTube shorts.

With the timeline option, you can also decide how and when text appears in your video.

Getting the first 100 subscribers on YouTube is the hardest milestone to achieve for almost anyone trying to grow a YouTube channel.

Unless you have a following on a different platform or are already famous, it’s going to be hard to reach 100 subscribers on YouTube.

First, regardless of what you see online, don’t do sub for sub and don’t pay for services that promise you subs and views.  

Here is the step-by-step guide to getting 100 subscribers on YouTube.

If you already published a video, make sure to consistently publish at least once a week.

Add a subscribe watermark. 

Ask people to subscribe in the first 10 seconds of your video.

Use a subscribe animation in your video.

Ask people to subscribe in the description and in the first comment.

Try YouTube shorts.

Consider changing the channel name to make it more descriptive.

When it comes to using music in YouTube videos, it's really important that you understand copyright laws, royalty-free, free music, and YouTube rules around it.

Using popular music is out of the question.  You will almost certainly get a copyright strike or lose monetization.
YouTube has an automated way to listen to and detect copyright music in your videos.

So what kind of music can you use? You'll need to use royalty-free or copyright-free music tracks.

YouTube actually has a pretty good library for this.  You can find it under the audio tab in your YouTube studio.

You can also use music from artists that allow their music to be used for free as long as you give them credit in the description.  But you may run into issues later if they change their policy.

How to Edit Videos with the YouTube Video Editor

Did you know YouTube has a video editor built into its website?

With YouTube’s editor, you can remove sections, replace music, blur anything including faces, and much more.

To access the YouTube editor, simply go to youtube.com, then to your channel, and press manage videos.  Find the video you want to edit and select it.

Click editor on the left side of the screen to open the YouTube video editor.

On top of the editor page, you’ll see your videos with some controls for playback and speed.

Below that, you can your timeline.  The timeline has multiple tracks.  You’ll see the video, audio, or music, monetization or ad breaks, blur, and end screen. 

Trimming videos:
Press trim to enter the trim mode.  To start or end the video at a different time, simply click from the beginning or end and move the cursor over.

To delete a section in the middle, you’ll have to split the clip first from where your edit starts.  Then highlight the section you want to remove.

To save any of the edits, you’ll have to hit preview first and then press save.

Adding music:
Your second track is for music.  You can press the plus sign and use the free music that YouTube provides.  You can move the clip anywhere.
You can also change the level of the music to work with existing sound or write over the existing sound.
You can add multiple audio tracks here.

Ad breaks:
The third track is for your ad breaks.  If your videos is longer than 8 minutes, you can have multiple ads in the same video and decide when they appear.

Blur:
Track four is for blurring faces or objects in your video.

End-screen:
The end screen adds elements in the last 20 seconds of your video to encourage people to click on another video or to subscribe.

Once you are happy with your edit, you can save the video to overwrite the existing video or save it as a new video.
YouTube will take some time to process the video before making it live.

How to Edit Videos with the Youtube Video Editor

You can easily turn off comments on YouTube videos on youtube.com or using the YouTube Studio app on your phone.

Disabling comments in videos will remove the comment section entirely.  But you do have other options to limit comments if you don't want to disable them.

Find a video in YouTube studio on youtube.com on the computer and scroll to the bottom of the description page.  You'll see an option for comments.  Here, comments can be turned off, turned on, or limited.  With limitations, you can hold potentially inappropriate or hold all comments for review.

On the YouTube studio app, you can allow or disable comments in any video, but you won't have the same options as the desktop version of YouTube studio website.

You typically want to start with the first two. Search and suggested.
I’ll explain each here in a little more detail.

Youtube is the second biggest search engine. And Google, the first biggest search engine shows a lot of videos in the search results.

So you can start by creating videos that are search-friendly for youtube and google.
But make sure they are on the topic that you’ll continue to cover on your channel.
Don’t make random search-based videos because you’ll have a problem later on with attracting subscribers and getting them to come back to your new videos.

After the search, your goal should be to try and get suggested by youtube.
You can get suggested by creating similar content to other YouTubers with your own spin on it.

Promotion is also a good option for growing fast. You have two options here. Share your videos on other social media platforms. You can also edit a teaser for other platforms and promote your longer YouTube video.

Another promotion option is getting views by turning your YouTube video into a youtube ad and making it discoverable in search.

I'm going to show you a few different ways to do it. I'm using iOS, but on an Android phone, you should see the same option as in a little bit of a different place. But this should give you the general idea on how to do this. I'm just here on their, my videos tab. And if you see those three dots next to the video, if I press those three dots, it gives me an option to share the video. And if I press share, it gives me an option to copy link. You see the copy link option. So if I press copy link. It's copied the link. Now, now, if I go to text, I'm just going to text myself here. And if I just hold that down on press paste and I'll send that text, it should send over that video in this format. And if you press that link, it should take you back to YouTube to play that video. I'm going to go back to the mobile app here and I'll show you another way to do this. I'm just going to press play on one of these videos. And let me just go ahead and press pause, and you could also share this way. You see that arrow on the video. If you press that, you will get the copy link option, and that will copy the link and you could do the same thing. And underneath the video, there's a sheriff. Which also gives you a copy link option. So wherever you see the share icon, or it says share, you should give you a copy link option. And by copying the link, you could use it in any way you want. You could paste it into Facebook or you can message it, email it, and then anything else you need to do with the link. I hope this video was helpful.
